Border Grill Santa Monica is the vibrant setting where chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger present the bold foods and spicy flavors of modern Mexico cuisine. Since opening in 1985 on Melrose Avenue, Border Grill has established a new standard for gourmet Mexican fare, and the chefs have become known, says New York Newsday, as Mexican food's "pre-eminent American translators."
The menu features authentic dishes from the chef's travels including favorites from the original restaurant like Panuchos, Green Corn Tamales, Marinated Skirt Steak and daily specials that reflect what is in the market. Wild and bright as a Modernist fiesta, Border Grill is a "stylishly funky, pleasantly raucous place," says Travel & Leisure. The stylish urban cantina is designed by architect Josh Schweitzer and features colorful murals by artists Su Huntley and Donna Muir. |
