I should have read a couple of reviews before selecting this resturaunt. It would have been nice to also see a copy of the menu and prices.
First of all, it was hard to find the place. If you see Habib's, park and walk past Habib and Mayflower i... Read mores on the left. We landed in LV at 6pm, got the rental car, checked into the hotel and arrived just in time for our 730pm dinner reservations. I picked this resturaunt because it was near our next excursion and the only chinese resturant on dinnerbroker's list. I was expecting to have a chinese style meal. You know, large entree plates to share, fast service, waiters w/broken english, the whole 9 yards. Mayflower is far from that.
Mayflower is situated in a commercial strip plaza. I was quickly comforted to see a chinese character displayed on their sign. The interior was pleasantly decorated and set w/romantic lighting and relaxing muzak. We were surprised to be the only other table/patron in the resturant. Menu items were tastefully described, but difficult to read and comprehend quickly. I soon figured that this resturant was not what I expected, but we decided to stay and try it out. I thought pricing to be on the high side and even with the cash discount a little inflated. We ordered and waited. And waited.
And waited. No one came by to check on us. Fifteen minutes later, the other table - who came in before us - finally got their food. We were worried about how much longer it would take for our order. Afterall, it wasn't like the resturant was full to capacity with people waiting for a table. We were the other patron in the whole resturant. Luckily, our food arrived shortly. Food presentation was beautiful and very tasty.
This resturant selection was not the right fit for us. For those of you craving the real authentic asian meal, go to spring mountain west of the 15 and LV Strip.
